Gungahlin Veterinary Hospital, Canberra, is one of the premier veterinary practices in the ACT, with a team of experienced and highly trained veterinarians, caring, trained veterinary nurses, dedicated receptionists and support staff. We work from a purpose built hospital (the newest in the ACT – opened December 2002), equipped with a full complement of equipment for diagnosis and surgery of most small animal problems.

We are an Accredited Hospital of Excellence. Until November 2014, the only registered small animal veterinary specialists in South East NSW were based in our hospital. We are open from 8 am to 7 pm week days (and 8.30 am to 4 pm Saturdays) and provide disabled access, to make it easy for you to visit us.

Training, experience and equipment are nothing without care. Our staff are animal lovers and owners who understand the joys of pet ownership, the worry when they are unwell, and the grief when they are lost. We care for your pet with compassion as well as professionalism, and for you with empathy and respect. When it comes to the crunch, we put your pet first....

As pet owners, we understand just how important our pets are in our families here in Canberra. Our commitment to continuity of care means that you will only ever be seen by one of three vets. If your small friend needs to stay in hospital ... we call you at least twice daily with updates.

Dr Matt is ultimately responsible for everything that happens at Small Friends Veterinary Hospital. He believes in the maintenance and development of knowledge, so all staff participate in continuing education, training sessions and regular in-house education. Dr Matt is confident that all Small Friend's staff can handle any situation that arises. Small Friends is a team-oriented, friendly working environment, with every person's role valued and understood by others.
